More than being part of the house, the surrounding
exterior is the reason for its existence.
One might almost say that the walls of the house are
the trees that surround it, and the large windows only serve to frame the landscape
in a more poetic way when we are in the shelter.
The river is the other key element, so the house is in
direct dialogue with him, although currently it is her worst enemy...
Now an unexpected tutorial where I will disclose some
of my tricks, might be useful...
To modulate the surrounding I started to import the
ground (geo-location) directly to the SketchUp, there are no easier.
I´ve simplified 3d for the essentials and used the
basic volumes of the house to go guiding me on the rest of the process.
Created a continuous plan to implement the 360º skyline,
following the most intense vegetation in the aerial photo.
There are textures with backgrounds of this kind on
the net, but I had to create one from scratch to get a closer real effect of the
house surrounding.
Another plan serves to create a closer to the home line
trees. The texture, trimmed, was adapted from an existing on the net.
Next were placed single trees in the approximate
locations of reality.
For this purpose I’ve just used three different trees,
which were then scaled individually and randomly, and some, also mirrored.
They’ve been changing and adding to get a satisfactory
visual effect.
To the river I´ve created a color close to the
original, with some transparency to achieve the notion of reflection.
The trick is simple, just duplicate and mirror what is
above...
It's hard to find a grass texture to apply over large
areas, because they usually create a very unrealistic mosaic effect.
So, I had to create a texture that is more close to
reality, it was not easy but, was not bad.
Then it was simply install the house in the right
place and spread some gravel underneath, simple is’nt?
(in the next stroke I’m going to show the video with
the final result)
