Normally car modelling is made from their blueprints, but,
it turns out that in this case I did not have these drawings, only the pictures
of a study from Cadillac, the Urban Luxury, which I found quite achieved taking
into account its size.
The modelling was prepared directly in SketchUp from
these photos, reducing its form to the essential in order to achieve a model as
simple as possible.
The photos served as a texture to a material aspect of
the realistic model, which may be used in scenarios that are intended to be
photorealistic, and also prepared a model without texture photos for use in non-realistic
images, including hand drawing (stroke 1).
The short video below, also performed in SketchUp,
shows the final result, proving that this type of modelling, even if less
rigorous than that obtained with the technical drawings, can have very good
results.
